Participant‘preciate it !
I’ve browsed thru a lot of the Habs forum chatter.
It seems very friendly from what I can tell. The Sexual Chicken Guy conversations can get a bit weird but I’m willing to give it a try!
See you there soon.

ParticipantBrossoit would not count if they put him on LTIR.
I created a roster of 23 players assuming Brossoit is still injured.
If Brossoit is healthy, they could:
a) try to trade him (won’t get much, if anything)
b) send him to the AHL (he might get claimed going through waivers but they likely wouldn’t care)
c) keep 3 goalies on the NHL roster, and send the Weber contract to LTIR. They would still be above the cap floor.Metalhead

ParticipantNot really a Leafs FA comment, more about general FA / RFA signings this summer:
There will be a lot of contracts out there that seem crazy to a lot of people.
The league cap is going up almost 1/4 billion dollars in total. More than the previous (5) increases combined.
A lot of teams will have big $$$ to throw around.
Really bad teams will be willing to overpay to tempt a free agent to sign with them.
There could be a couple very high offer sheets for young RFA talent. (1st+2nd+3rd pick compensation)I suppose Tavares might sign super cheap to stay in Toronto, but 3 X $7mm will be out there.
Bennett and Ekblad will get huge money if they leave Florida. Same with Ehlers if he leaves WPG.
Mid level guys you are not reading about will get nice pay increases. It will not be about what is the current going rate for proven talent and production.
It’s about teams spending into their ’25/26 cap and future rising cap money. New math is in play. -
