I said they were ruining Korchinski. I said they were wasting Bedard because they failed to surround him with talent. They found a slightly above average winger for him this year and Bedard is approaching the top of the league. I also thought the coaching was subpar under Richardson and was skewered for it.

I don’t think Blashill is Q but is there anyone out here that looks back fondly on the Richardson years?

There is nothing quick about Davidson except collecting his check on the 1st and 15th.

They were getting great goaltending and scoring on over 13% of their shots early in the season. Both are regressing. San Jose and Anaheim have passed them at this point. There does not appear to be any pressure from ownership, media, or the fan base to win now. Everyone has swallowed the Cool-Aid that Frondell, Kanserov, Lardis and others are going to arrive soon and turn this around. Bedard is in year 3 and just scratching the surface of what he will be. Those guys will take as long if not longer. It is past time for a bold move. Toninato is not enough. Quinn Hughes is moving. Hawks and Canucks have made many low level deals. Hughes has 1.5 years remaining on his deal and can get a 8 year deal if he resigns this summer. The CBA is going to reduce that to 7 to resign and 6 as an UFA. That change could potentially cost him $30 million. Hopefully Hawks GM is on the phone and figuring out what it will take to get him.

What is Rinzel? Is he an offensive D man who is going to produce enough points that the coach will put up with his bad defense or is he a guy who is going to struggle to gain the coach’s confidence until he learns how to be more dependable in his own zone? Let’s hope he goes to Rockford and Nightingale molds him into a solid D man who brings offense when it’s there. My guess is we have seen the last of him at the NHL level for the season. With the playoffs slipping away, it is time to find out if KK, Allen, and Del Mastro can play or need to be traded away. Duncan Keith played 99 AHL games and turned out OK, Rinzel can spend a season or 2 in the AHL.

KD has fallen in love with his picks and is too passive. At this pace Foligno should win the Hart because the Hawks have looked worse than the Richardson years in several games since he was hurt. Buffalo, Seattle, Nashville, ANA first 45 seconds, LA, Sunday in ANA.

It was a big mistake to rush Rinzel and now they have another Jokiharju, Boqvist, KK situation. Hawks should have signed Orlov in the off season. Rinzel could be growing in Rockford.

Team gets an historic ass kicking and the GM’s scapegoats the 7th D and 13th forward.

Told-you-so Tab at BN will tell you he loves Slaggert if you hate him and he hates him if you love him.
