If I was an NHL GM, I would wake up every morning thinking about how to fleece Ken Holland. EK to LAK!
Any of the California gms. Don’t know what they are smoking out there but it must be good. I’m sure Doobs can convince holland he is 1 EK away from defeating Edmonton in round 1. I honestly thought ek could be the difference maker for Dallas as a 2RD, plus their whole right side was pretty weak.
…then in a crazy twist of plot a California GM ends up smoking Doobs in a trade.
I had three thoughts when I saw the Dumba trade announced moments ago:
1) It’s great to get a 2nd round pick for a guy they claimed off waivers last season and isnt that good. Chance he develops into a better player though, of course.
2) This will help McKenna chances.
3) I really wish Grinder was around at times like this. I bet he’s really happy we got Dumba and not for the reason(s) must of us are hahaha
They would have been bottom 5 this year if it wasn’t for Jarry’s late season heater.
I don’t know about that. Perhaps, I guess. Still though, I don’t think they’re one of the worst 5 teams in the league as currently constructed. I would put them in the 6th to 12th worst. Jarry is still there and capable of heaters. He is also part of the team and the current roster construct I speak of.
His numbers looked good in the 2022/2023 NHL season. His AHL numbers since then aren’t where’d you’d like to them.
Yeah, he was coming along real good in that season … but he’s been playing with injuries ever since then, he only played 40 games last year so his numbers show that.
If healthy, I’m sure he could be a useful addition to your team … in any case, you only signed him up for 1 year so it might be a risk worth taking. JMOAgreed.
I see you guys picked up Rafaël Harvey-Pinard (RHP for us Habs fans) … I think you guys did good here.
I’m happy for him … good guy.Not a bad winger (3rd line) but he got sidetracked with injuries over the last 2 years so he was passed by in the Habs hierarchy of prospects.
His numbers looked good in the 2022/2023 NHL season. His AHL numbers since then aren’t where’d you’d like to see them.

I would love Ehlers for the same reason, to shake at TDL and get more draft capital. He’s not going to sign for only 1 season, though. Ehlers, or no Ehlers, this team probably isn’t going to be in the bottom 5 of league standings, this upcoming season IMO.
I know the Pens are currently 23/23 roster contracts…maybe even 24/23 now with Mantha signed, but this will probably change with trades and also some guys will probably hit waivers/get sent down in camp.
Still some decent names on this list. I would like one year deals for guys like Orlov, Olofsson, Roslovic, Kuznetsov and more on this list to be able to get more draft capital at TDL. I would love Ehlers but he’s probably going to want a lot for a long time and that doesn’t really fit the Pens right now.

Hopefully he performs really well, and stays healthy, so we can ship him off for a decent pick at the TDL.
Mantha is a done deal by sounds of it. 1 year/2.5
Pens got a lot bigger this offseason…so far, anyway. Not that Mantha uses his 6’5/235 pound frame in a real physical way, he was still hard to get off the puck and move around the other teams net.
EK obviously reads the DM’s. I’m pretty sure he locked me out from sending them although he hasn’t banned me yet. Doesn’t matter. He’s destroyed that site.

I discovered today that no matter how many times I come back into this site, unless I press refresh while here, I will never see new posts. So, the multiple times I popped in since the draft to see what you guys were saying, and comment, there was nothing new for days and I just thought something might have been wrong with site and no one could post.

I honestly don’t know a whole lot about anyone in this year’s draft. I would be fine using one of the picks to obtain a young NHL ready forward.
Maybe its just not being used to this new place/being at HB so long but I really did like the layout of HB much better. Each team’s newest blog in a square thumbnail on home page. HB never changed, or upgraded anything, over all my years there and this place is pretty new. So, it could change things for the better as it goes a long.
