Gaudreau Foundation: First-Ever Sled Hockey Grant

On Friday, the John and Matthew Gaudreau Foundation announced its first-ever grant to Ohio Sled Hockey, supporting the organization’s mission statement. Ohio Sled Hockey provides access and instruction for individuals with physical limitations to participate in ice hockey. The grant will help Ohio Sled Hockey expand access to adaptive hockey programming, ensuring that athletes of all abilities have the chance to experience the physical, emotional, and social benefits of the game.

“This first grant represents exactly what the John and Matthew Gaudreau Foundation was created to do — open doors, build community, and use hockey as a force for inclusion and opportunity,” Meredith Gaudreau said in a press release.

“Supporting Ohio Sled Hockey allows us to honor John and Matty’s love for the game while making a tangible difference in the lives of others.”

Funding for the grant was made possible through proceeds raised at the Hockey Players in Business (HPIB) Charity Golf tournament on Sept. 29, 2025. The annual event brings together current and former hockey players from all levels of play, business leaders, and hockey fans. charitable causes aligned with the values of the
hockey community.


“The generosity shown through the Hockey Players in Business Charity Golf Tournament made this moment possible,” Meredith Gaudreau said.

“We are incredibly grateful to everyone who participated, sponsored, and supported the event, helping turn a shared passion for hockey into real impact.”

Ohio Sled Hockey offers adaptive sled hockey programs that empower individuals with physical disabilities to participate in a fast-paced, competitive team sport while fostering confidence, camaraderie, and inclusion. This grant is the first of many the John and Matthew Gaudreau Foundation plans to award in support of organizations that reflect the spirit, values, and legacy of the Gaudreau brothers.
