The Montreal Canadiens 2024-25 season has concluded with their elimination from the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Montreal players and fans alike seem pleased with the progress made by the team and anxiously look forward to summer changes and the start of training camp in the Fall.
Jeff Gorton, Executive Vice President, Hockey Operations and General Manager Kent Hughes conducted exit meetings with all the players on Friday and they will speak to the media on Monday. They will then conduct a review of the season and prepare their offseason strategy, including contracts for their own players, the NHL Draft and free agency.
After a lengthy drought, qualifying for the playoffs energized the city once again. It would be tempting to set the playoffs as a minimum goal next season. But the Canadiens are entering a crucial part of their rebuild and must stick to the plan. They will continue to get younger as a team as they transition promising prospects to the NHL
