With the new Washington Capitals season getting underway this week, I am excited to announce that I will be returning to regular coverage of the team this season – including a number of road games.
With the sports landscape around Washington having changed dramatically in the last year, I hope to fill the coverage with the usual stories, analysis and breakdowns in what figures to be a memorable season in the nation’s capital one way or another.
Having covered the early years of the Alex Ovechkin era and writing a pair of books of the Caps’ rise to prominence in the past two decades, I am excited to tell the story of the coming transition and closing of an era in Washington.
After a dozen years with Newsday, I would like to thank Hockey Hot Stove for giving me a chance to return to what I really love to do, cover the greatest game on the planet on a regular basis.
I am also thrilled to be coming back to the Washington area, where I first became captivated by the game nearly five decades ago at the Capital Centre.
