Injury Ninja Returns For The Hockey

Hello everyone. For those that do not know, I have battled several health scares with my family over the past couple of months. Unfortunately, they have not turned out for the best. One will linger but the Injury Ninja strives to fight on. Thankfully, the worst, the Big C word, was ruled out.

The fantasy hockey part of the operation will probably return sometime after the Olympic Break with trade deadline talk a natural focus too. Sadly, some things just had to take a backseat. Naturally, we still had to write and do podcasts, social media, etc. However, there was just no way to get to it all. It is the part I felt the worst about. The Injury Ninja is supposed to be a jovial account thriving on chaos. Hockey Hot Stove has been incredibly supportive through all of this and I am incredibly thankful.

On the bright side, there will be coverage almost wall-to-wall for the Olympics. We are looking at what Cortina entails and closely scrutinizing the Tests that will happen before the arena is tried out for real next month. There is that gentle reminder the hockey action in Italy is still about four weeks away (Women’s Prelims that is). The Men’s Prelims begin on February 11th.

What This All Means

Yes, I think I am back! The pain at times has been otherworldly but surely most have seen the spike in injuries this NHL season. I have a lot of people to apologize to. Heck, we probably worried the living daylights out of some too. There were fantasy leagues I almost had to abandon practically. That sucked! I will try to make some showing soon if I can solve that silly little Yahoo login problem. Hopefully, that gets resolved in the next several days or so.

Anyhow, it is hard to keep this old bastard down. Sorry for the language but it’s 666% true. There are so many things to keep an eye on from fingers to scary hits, suspensions, and more. We even have potential Head Coach and General Manager firings. The scuttlebutt of the hockey world is always moving, always churning, and forever has its own twists and turns.

Oh, About Those Olympics…

Ladies and gentlemen, we told you so! It appears that the Olympic “Test” event did not quite go as planned. Aside from the obvious look of the arena coming into question, there was something out of the game “Moon Patrol” on the ice.

No one should be surprised by this. For people who remember Olympics past, the 2006 Torino games were in doubt too. However, this might be a greater challenge. Consider that the Women’s Ice Hockey starts earlier (February 5th), according to the schedule.

At the same token, we were fortunate enough to run into someone who actually played on the ice. It was more intriguing to get this perspective and how they feel about the surface, etc.

Apologies for the last part getting cut off, but the last sentence focuses on the ventilation. Once that fully kicks in, the ice is expected to improve. Soft spots should disappear. Basically, we are learning more and more as the reader is. On Friday night, I was able to watch replays of the stream. It was nice to get fresh perspective like boots on the ground (in this case skates on the ice). Needless to say, we learned a lot and can admit being wrong.

Final Words From the Injury Ninja

Needless to say, the Injury Ninja continues to provide unique coverage and more from a hockey and more perspective. Thanks again for reading and as always, there will be more. And yes, go to the doctor and/or an Urgent Care. It might just save your life.
