Marlies Facing Elimination; Leafs Ex-Files 

The Toronto Maple Leafs AHL affiliate won the first game of their best-of-three first-round matchup against the Rochester Americans on Wednesday, with Artur Akhtyamov shutting out the Amerks 5-0 at Coca-Cola Coliseum, but the shoe was on the other foot on Friday at the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester, as the Toronto Marlies were blanked by Devon Levi 4-0. Game 3 will take place on Sunday afternoon in Toronto.

The Leafs have missed the post-season for the first time since 2016, and are currently searching for a new GM, and whoever that is will decide whether to bring back head coach Craig Berube. There are several former Leafs on the rosters of the 16 clubs currently in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
