Friday sent seismic shockwaves through the National Hockey League with a pair of trades.

The big one: All world defenseman Quinn Hughes was traded by the Vancouver Canucks to the Minnesota Wild. The Canucks received center Marco Rossi, defenseman Zeev Buium, left wing Liam Ohgren, and a 2026 first round pick in the NHL Draft.

Talk about a “Wild” all-in risk move for general manager Bill Guerin. Will this give Minnesota a leg up on their Western Conference rivals?

Flyers

Prior to that, the Edmonton Oilers shook up their goaltending landscape. GM Stan Bowman moved to acquire Tristan Jarry and forward Sam Poulin from the Pittsburgh Penguins. Pittsburgh received goalie Stuart Skinner, defenseman Brett Kulak, and a second round pick in the 2029 NHL Draft.

Will Jarry give the Oilers what they need or will we see more chaos in net behind Connor McDavid and company?

Of course Mike, Russ, and Anthony will dive into the ramifications of each deal. Plus we’ll have the latest team reports on the Flyers, Sabres, Maple Leafs, Rangers, and much more.

So, make sure to tune into the flagship podcast of Hockey Hot Stove!
