One of the premier voices in Canadian sports, Andi Petrillo serves as host of CBC Sports each weekend. In her role, Petrillo provides audiences with coverage of national and international elite high-performance sporting events. She is also hosts in-depth features on the athletes and sports featured. She is also the host of Amazon Prime’s live hockey coverage (including Coast To Coast on Thursday nights) and provides soccer coverage for One Soccer.
Working in both television and radio, she’s covered the Olympics, soccer, lacrosse, and of course, hockey (with a focus on the Toronto Maple Leafs). She was the first woman to join CBC’s “Hockey Night in Canada” broadcast full-time. Petrillo was also the first woman to win the Canadian Screen Award for Best Sports Host and the first to host to a daily sports talk show (Leafs Lunch).
Additionally, in October, Petrillo released her autobiography “Just Call Me Andi: Sports Stories from a Trailblazer.” In it, she discusses the triumphs and challenges that she’s faced as a woman in the traditionally male-dominated space of sports broadcasting.
