Oilers Win Another Important Game

The Edmonton Oilers picked up their first four-game win streak of the season on Tuesday night. Not a bad way for Connor Ingram to celebrate his 29th birthday. He is playing so well during this current streak. Ingram posted a shutout on his birthday to help the Oilers beat the Seattle Kraken 3-0.

Last night might be one of Edmonton’s best games in a while. Ingram is a huge part of the victory. Posting a shutout on your birthday is icing on the cake. The hockey Gods haven’t been too kind to the Oilers this season, but everything felt right on Tuesday night. Edmonton is playing some of its best hockey at the right time. They are two points behind the Anaheim Ducks for first place in the Pacific Division.

As good as the Oilers looked in their games against the Utah Mammoth, Vegas Golden Knights, and Anaheim, they were completely dominant against the Kraken. Seattle spent long stretches of the game where they couldn’t get out of their own zone. Although the score was relatively close, the result on the ice didn’t seem close at all. Edmonton put on a performance that result in a runaway on other nights.

Oilers Goalie was Stellar

I mean, winning 8-0 instead of 3-0 would not have been surprising. However, that wasn’t the case, Ingram had to be sharp when called upon, and he most certainly was. Whether he was facing shots from the outside or chances in tight, he was on his game. Whether the Oilers were playing at even strength or on the penalty kill, Ingram was ready for anything the Kraken sent his way.

In all, Ingram turned aside 27 shots for his second shutout of the season and eighth of his career. The 29-year-old has a 14-8-2 record this season with a 2.69 GAA and a .898 SV% through 27 games. The Oilers will look to keep their win streak going on Thursday when they host the Chicago Blackhawks.
