PWHL Announce Camp Rosters – Pt 1

On Thursday, each of the PWHL teams released its training camp rosters. Camps will open in the first week of November. Rosters must be trimmed to 23 active players, plus three reserves, by November 19. The PWHL season starts on November 21, with all eight teams in action on opening night.

In the first of a two-part series, we’ll take a look at the four U.S.-based teams.

Boston Fleet: 21 players signed
Off-season protected list: Aerin Frankel (G), Megan Keller (F), Alina Muller (F)
Notable additions: Haley Winn (D)
Notable departures: Hilary Knight (F), Hannah Bilka (F)
Unsigned:
F: Kelly Babstock, Olivia Mobley, Julia Nearis, Abby Newhook
D: Mia Biotti, Riley Brengman, Olivia Muhn, Julia Shaunessy, Olivia Zafuto
G: Kaitlyn Ross, Amanda Thiele
Biggest question: Will the team overcome the loss of Knight and Bilka to Seattle, and return to the playoffs?

Minnesota Frost: 19 players signed
Off-season protected list: Kendall Coyne Schofield (F), Taylor Heise (F), Lee Stecklein (D), Britta Curl-Salemme (F)
Notable additions: Kendall Cooper (D)
Notable departures: Claire Thompson (D), Sophie Jaques (D), Michela Cava (F)
Unsigned:
F: Peyton Andereson, Alyssa Machado, Madison Mashuga, Kaitlyn O’Donohoe, Vanessa Upson
D: Brooke Becker, Madison Bizal, Ava Rinker, Cameron Sikich
Biggest questions: How big a role on the blue line can Cooper play (signed 2025 first round draft pick), or even fellow 2025 draft choices Bizal or Rinker, now that defenders Thompson and Jaques signed with Vancouver? Can the team recover from a depleted blue line to win a third straight Walter Cup?

New York Sirens: 18 signed players
Off-season protected list: Sarah Fillier (F), Ella Shelton (D), Micah Zandee-Hart (D), Maja Nylen Persson (D)
Notable additions: Kristyna Kaltounkova (F), Casey O’Brien (F), Kristin O’Neill (F)
Notable departures: Alex Carpenter (F), Jesse Eldridge (F), Ella Shelton (D), Corrine Schroeder (G)
Unsigned:
F: Anna Bargman, Kira Judodikis, Casey O’Brien, Alexis Paddington, Makenna Webster, Maddi Wheeler
D: Olivia Knowles, Nicole Vallario
G: Kaley Doyle, Callie Shanahan
Biggest questions: Which of 2025 draft picks Doyle or Shanahan will earn the backup goalie job (to Kayle Osborne?) How quickly can the team reach an agreement with O’Brien, this year’s Patty Kazmaier Award winner?  And, will the gamble to trade Shelton in order to draft O’Brien pay off?

PWHL Seattle: 19 signed players
Notable additions: Hilary Knight (F), Alex Carpenter (F), Cayla Barnes (D), Corrine Schroeder (G)
Unsigned:
F: Brooke Bryant, Lily Delianedis, Jada Habisch, Sydney Langseth, Mara Wagner, Olivia Wallin
D: Lyndie Lobdell, Lily Yovetich, Emily Zumwinkle
Biggest question: Which of the unsigned forwards will step up to make the team, which currently has only ten forwards inked to a deal?
