PWHL Announce Camp Rosters – Pt 2

On Thursday, each of the PWHL teams released their training camp rosters. Camps will open in the first week of November. Rosters must be trimmed to 23 active players, plus three reserves, by November 19. The PWHL season starts on November 21, with all eight teams in action on opening night.

In the second of a two-part series, we’ll take a look at the four Canadian-based teams.

Montreal Victoire: 19 players signed
Off-season protected list: Ann-Renee Desbiens (G), Marie-Philip Poulin (F), Laura Stacey (F), Erin Ambrose (D)
Notable additions: Abby Roque (F),  Nicole Gosling (D)
Notable departures: Jenn Gardiner (F),  Cayla Barnes (D), Anna Wilgren  (D)
Unsigned:
F: Dara Grieg, Skylar Irving, Maya Labad, Natalie Mlynkova, Audrey-Anne Veillette, Claire Vekich
D: Tamara Giaquinto, Kelly-Ann Nadeau
G: Tricia Deguire, Megan Warrener
Biggest questions: How big a role on the blue line can Gosling play (signed 2025 first round draft pick) to help offset the loss of defenders Barnes and Wilgren to Seattle? And what impact will Roque, obtained from New York for Kristin O’Neill, have with her new team?

Ottawa Charge: 23 signed players
Off-season protected list: Emily Clark (F),Gwyneth Philips (G),Ronja Savolainen (D), Gabbie Hughes (F)
Notable additions: Rory Guilday (D)
Notable departures: Ashton Bell (D), Tereza Vanisova (F), Jincy Roese (D)
Unsigned:
F: Peyton Hemp, Alexandra Huszak, Alexa Vasko
D: Vita Ponyatovskaya, Kathryn Reilly
G: Kendra Woodland
Biggest question: Goaltender Phillips is a foundational player, but who can spark the offensive production to complement Clark and Jenner?

Toronto Sceptres: 19 signed players
Off-season protected list: Renata Fast (D), Blayre Turnbull (F), Daryl Watts (F), Emma Maltais (F)
Notable additions: Ella Shelton (D)
Notable departures: Sarah Nurse (F), Hannah Miller (F), Megan Carter (D), Kristen Campbell (G)
Unsigned:
F: Kristina Della Rovere, Sara Hjalmarsson, Lauren Messier, Anneke Rankila, Clara van Wieren, Kiara Zanon
D: Hanna Baskin
G: Sarah Coe, Jessie McPherson
Biggest question: Although newly-acquired Shelton solidifies the blue line, where will the secondary scoring come from, with the departures of Nurse and Miller to Vancouver?

PWHL Vancouver: 19 signed players
Notable additions: Claire Thompson (D), Sophie Jaques (D), Sarah Nurse (F), Emerance Maschmeyer (G)
Unsigned:
F: Chanreet Bassi, Brianna Brooks, Katie Chan, Darcy Lappan, Taylor Lind, Madison Samoskevich, Malia Schneider
D: Madison Clough, Karley Garcia, Nina Jobst-Smith, Kennesha Miswaggon
G: Erica Fryer, Kimberly Newell
Biggest question: Which of the nine camp invitees, the most of any PWHL club, can earn a full-time roster spot?
