Flyers game broadcasts on national TV (and streaming services)
The NHL and its national broadcast rightsholders in the United States announced their full broadcast schedules for the 2025-26 regular season. The announcement covers televised and streaming games on ESPN, The Walt Disney Company (TWDC) and TNT. Local and regional broadcast schedule announcements are forthcoming.
The Flyers will be featured on national TV 14 times during the upcoming season (six home games, eight road matches). Two of the four TNT games see the Flyers playing the Buffalo Sabres. In conjunction with the broadcast schedule announcement, four games now have different start times from the originally scheduled time.
Most notably, the March 14 home game against the Columbus Blue Jackets has been rolled back to 7:30 p.m. ET to accommodate the TV schedule. Meanwhile, road games with new start times include Dec. 18 in Buffalo (7:30 p.m. ET), January 21 in Utah (9:00 p.m. ET) and April 9 in Detroit (6:30 p.m. ET).

Thoughts on Dale Weise comments
Several people have asked about Dale Weise’s recent comments on his unhappy stint with the Flyers. I’ll keep it short and to the point.
- My personal dealings with Dale Weise during his time with the Flyers were always fine. He was approachable, friendly and accommodating. Additionally, he was always candid, sometimes to a fault. I remember him being gracious and thankful to those of us who inquired about his son’s well-being after he suffered a fractured orbital bone in November 2018. On a daily basis, he wasn’t one to sugar coat how he felt about a certain topic. Some liked it. Some found it off-putting.
- Among some, Weise quickly gained an internal reputation as a malcontent and a complainer. The only thing I ever personally witnessed in that regard was one time that he stormed out of the locker room during postgame media because his name was on the board and he waited too long for his liking while the media members were still interviewing other players.
- Weise believed that he was under-utilized by Dave Hakstol and was put in position to fail because his ice time and shift assignments were not conducive to living up to the free agent contract he signed with the Flyers. He was never reluctant to say that he thought playing more would bring out his best. (Of course, the converse to “play me more and I’ll play better” is “Play better and you’ll play more.”
- He did not publicly complain about teammates at the time. However, he apparently always felt the locker room lacked unity and leadership. The flip side of that: some within the team felt he was part of the problem both on the ice and within the room rather than striving to be part of the solution. Some considered him a negative influence on young players on the team.
- Ultimately, fans will choose to believe whatever they want to believe. That’s human nature. The bottom line is that Weise had some good seasons in the NHL, particularly with Montreal, but two-plus largely ineffective seasons in Philly minus the first six weeks of the 2018-19 season. Things didn’t work out for Weise in Philly. That’s the bottom line.
