The American Hockey League revealed its 2025-26 regular season schedule on Thursday, and the Toronto Marlies will open the 72-game slate on Friday, October 10th, on the road against their AHL North Division rival, the Rochester Americans. The Toronto Maple Leafs AHL affiliate will play their home opener the following day at Coca-Cola Coliseum against the Amerks in the back end of a home-and-home.
The Marlies will play three times at Scotiabank Arena, their traditional Boxing Day match against the Belleville Senators, on Monday, February 16th, 2026 (Family Day) against the Cleveland Monsters, and on St. Patrick’s Day vs. Cleveland.
The Leafs minor league squad will have a decidedly different look next season after trading prospects Fraser Minten and Nikita Grebenkin at the deadline, losing 2024-25 leading scorer Alex Steeves to the Boston Bruins, center Nick Abruzzese to the Tampa Bay Lightning, goalie Matt Murray to the Seattle Kraken, and 2020 draftees Roni Hirvonen (Finland) and Topi Niemela (Sweden).
In other news, piggybacking on what Elliotte Friedman reported earlier this week, newly signed Edmonton winger Andrew Mangiapane was interviewed on TSN 1050 on Thursday and indicated that the Maple Leafs had shown interest in the 29-year-old Toronto native, but that there was no firm offer on the table. He instead signed a two-year, $7.2 million deal with the Oilers. Friedman indicated that the Leafs were looking to clear out salary to sign a forward, and that free agent Jack Roslovic may be patiently waiting for Toronto GM Brad Treliving to move out a player to clear cap space.
