Three Rangers Invited To US Olympic Camp

On Tuesday, USA Hockey announced that 44 players, representing 24 different NHL teams, will attend the U.S. Men’s Olympic Orientation Camp Aug. 26-27 in Plymouth, Mich. As the team’s press release noted, The two-day gathering is largely an administrative and team-building event and includes no formal on-ice activity or public component. Several current New York Rangers and former Rangers made the invitee list.

Current Rangers: Three selected

Adam Fox, Vincent Trocheck and J.T. Miller, all of whom were part of the U.S. Men’s National Team for this past February’s 4 Nations Face-Off, are among the 44 in camp. None of the three were in the list of the first six players.for the US National Team. Fox was one of the first six players named to the 4 Nation’s Face-Off but it was no surprise he was left off this time. Of the three, Miller has the best chance to be on the 25-man roster revealed in January with Fox a strong possibility as well. Mike Sullivan, the new Rangers coach, will helm this team, just as he did the squad that won silver at the 4 Nation’s Face-Off.

Fomer Rangers: Kreider, McDonagh and Skjei

Chris Kreider, who was part of the 4 Nations Face-Off team, Ryan McDonagh and Brady Skjei are former Rangers who will be in camp. All three have some form of international experience. But all three may be longer shots to be one of the 25 to wear the red, white and blue.

Evidence that playing in the IIHF matters is clear, as12 players who helped the U.S. win gold at the 2025 IIHF Men’s World Championship – the first gold for the U.S. at the event in 92 years – are part of the camp. In addition, part of the goal is to have players who are unlikely to make the team gain experience in this environment, resulting in the invite of some younger players. Left off this list, who likely should have been in camp, are Marco Rossi and Lane Hutson. Also not invited were Alex DeBrincat, Jacob Chychrun and Thatcher Demko.
