Happy Canada Day everyone! Hope being that it’s also free agent day always makes it fun. Great news for Flames fans this morning! Calgary signed Joel Hanley to a two-year extension with a cap hit of $1.75 million.
Hanley was an invaluable member of the Flames last season. Head coach Ryan Huska used him multiple roles. This is a great value signing at this rate. It’s great to see him back in the fold. Being as he’s a left’-shot D, I don’t think this moves the needle on a Rasmus Andersson trade but time will tell.
