In Friday’s edition of Flyers Daily, host Jason Myrtetus conducted a one-on-one interview with new Flyers center Christian Dvorak. The veteran forward discusses his decision to play for the Flyers, his previous working relationship with Rick Tocchet, and the evolution of his game. A big sports fan himself, Dvorak also talks about the passionate fan base in Philadelphia. (Note: this is a separate interview from the press conference that Dvorak did the same day).
Cancer Warriors 3-on-3 benefit tournament
Speaking of Jason Myrtetus, the Flyers Daily host will be at the FTC in Voorhees on Saturday. Chirping Pucks put together a 3-on-3 hockey tournament to benefit Jason and his family to offset the out-of-pocket costs associated with Jason’s ongoing cancer battle.
Flyers Propects: Summer Showcase Schedule
The 2025 World Junior Summer Showcase take place from July 25-August 2 at Ridder Arena in Minneapolis on the campus of the University of Minnesota. The yearly exhibition series organized by USA Hockey, features two squads (USA Blue and USA White) of American hopefuls for the 2025-26 IIHF World Junior Championships. The tourney also features prospects for Team Canada (Canada White and Canada Red), Team Sweden and Team Finland.
Flyers prospects Jack Murtagh and Shane Vansaghi have already been invited by USA Hockey to compete at the tournament. The Flyers could also be represented when rosters are finalized for Team Canada (Jett Luchanko, Porter Martone and possibly Spencer Gill), Team Sweden (Jack Berglund) and Team Finland (Heikki Ruohonen and Max Westergard).
