Not really an enigma. It will be bad. Maybe not as bad as last year but bad. No place to go but up really.

Briere panicing and trying to save the playoff run 2 years ago really backfired with that (relatively) huge contract sitting in the AHL this year.

We feel he gives us a chance. A chance at what?

Worst goaltending in the league mixed with a defense that ranked 29th out of 32 teams, and the only significant additions/changes were Dan Vladar & Noah Juulsen…

Counting on a goalie who’s never played more than 30 games in an NHL season (and will most likely be counted on to play closer to 40 or more than 30) with a career save percentage under .900 combined with a bad defense whose only addition is an AHL/NHL tweener doesn’t seem like much of an improvement plan to me. The old band aid on a severed arm cliche comes to mind.

Just shows how much of the Torts “myth” is a media creation, a Comcast production. They produced the shit out of that playoff run 2 years ago when they didn’t beat a division opponent for 3 months. He makes for good tv, not good hockey.

This is the Flyers real problem area, not that they don’t have enough “puck-moving” defensemen or skilled, fast players who weigh less than most of the players on the US Women’s national team.

the real problem starts at the top with ownership. then trickles down layer by layer.

The almost nine year long Hextall/Fletcher catastrophe is over. That destroyed this team, no question. This is now. The team still has issues but it’s a ton better off than it was.

as I said the real problem starts at the top. the same top that is still in place when those 2 were the GM. that hasn’t changed. replaced scott with another dope who has no business running a sports team.

briere part of fletcher’s staff, no? the amount of felating that briere receives is pure entertainment.

a ton better. god I love flyers fans. most delusional uneducated fan out there.

Flyers goalies still feel like a big question mark—Ersson had some good moments, but nothing steady yet.

Torts was the face of the rebuild across both Fletcher and Briere’s tenure until his act wore out, started a fight with York, and told the world the Flyers are fcked. Yet DB still wanted to run it back.

Yea it’s crazy how no matter what crazy thing Torts did, it was excused, old time hockey baby!. Hell now according to some fans the Flyers aren’t even tough to play against despite that being Torts motto for 3 years. These fans would never dare post that when Torts was here though.

It’s going to be the same with DB. In a couple of years.

Torts is now the voice of reason? I stopped following the Flyers for two years when they hired him. Maybe that’s why I’m less negative than a lot of folks here. I took a vacation from them.
