Glad that we finally got rid of our kid brother in Ottawa, here in Ontario. Now it’s time to play the big boys. It’s going to be tough, but it’s doable. There’s talk that the series might start as early as Saturday Night. I’m hoping that they wait until Tuesday, so the Maple Leafs can get some decompression after an emotional series and also allow the Panthers to cool off their current hot streak. There’s only one series outstanding, but it may not finish until Sunday. The Jets and Blues have been playing a homer series, very physical and very unpredictable. Having a weekend off before Round 2 might give us all time to breath.

The Panthers series is going to take an entirely greater level of effort from Toronto.

It’s imperative that the Leafs take Game 1 or it all falls apart. Tampa fell into that trap and tried to play catch-up. Florida grinded them into dust and they had no answer. I’d like to see Laughton stapled to Mathew Tkachuk the whole series. Even take him on in a fight if necessary. Remove him from the equation and the Leafs have a chance. Bennett also needs to be addressed and Mathew Knies could be the answer. The Leafs may have an advantage on the 4th line.
