“Oliver Bonk (upper body): Bonk suffered an injury during Rookie Camp. The Flyers intially classified it as day-to-day. However, the rookie defenseman has not skated or practiced since then. He underwent further evaluation last week. There is no further update since then.”

All one can do is shake their head. Any idea what that “injury” may be?

Will RR be back before the end of the year?

Flyers injury updates are the worst. You’d get better information from a magic 8-ball.

I did no get to watch too much of the game last night, but from what i saw.

Gard and Grans had some nice plays. Gard played the body well/checking and skates well. I did not know much about him. He appears to be on a good path.

Richard and Abols seem like they will be call ups again. Of the two would prefer Richard right now.

What stick does tippet use……seems to break a lot

    gard is a big boy.

    – Good to see dvorak getting 20 minutes. He will be a key player this season. Will go down as an underrated signing by the gm. Look for him to be re-signed at some point.

    – ND needs to be in the lineup more times than not. They need his physicality and presence.

    – Need to show patience with Hunter Mac. All the tools are there; “Jonesy” knows his hockey.

    – gilbert may end up the next Seeler in terms of taking a guy off the scrap heap and becoming a solid bottom pair dman. Maybe that will allow them to move seeler as that contract should be easy to get rid of. Should be in demand.

An offensive zone turnover combined with a bad D pairing change led to the first goal. A weak bleeder on Ersson was goal against two. Suzuki made a shot for the third. Flyers didn’t get enough the other way to overcome that. They were flat and outplayed badly in the first period. After that, the play was more even with the Flyers getting some good chances and both their goals. Bump looked good again. Luchanko looked fast. Kolosov stopped pucks.

“There’s no spot for Deslauriers in the regular NHL top 12 at this point.” – kudos Bill.

“ I suspect Tocchet placed Deslauriers there as a deterrent to Arber Xhekaj from running at one of the rookies.” – this is why Nd will make the team and play in games. He is not a deterrent in any way, shape, or form. No one fears ND or says wow I can’t hit someone if I must answer to ND. The flyers will always keep that line of thinking alive, however.

ND needs to be waived then sat in the press box in LHV.

As for the Jett. He skates fast, great. Wont mean a damn thing if he can’t produce.

He actually used his speed to close gaps very effectively defensively. He just has to produce more than the guys he’s competing for a spot against.

I think they have 3 spots open up front, 4C and two wingers. Since Abols is in the mix and can play wing or center, really anybody competing for a spot. Grebenkin, Abols, Brink, Bump maybe a couple of others.

they only have 2 spots open. assuming nd is the 13th forward; which one shouldn’t assume.

unless they move cates or dvorak to the wing that would leave 2 wing spots open. That would exclude the jett.

If one of those 2 is moved, then clearly the 4th line center spot is up for grabs. Abols has been used on the wing in both games. Tells me they probably don’t see him as an option for 4th line center. if they do then odd not to play at center.

never know what will fall on the waiver wire either.

still pushing that brink doesn’t have a spot locked up. good stuff.
