The Philadelphia Flyers had a complete off-day on Friday following a Thursday on-ice practice and video session at the FTC in Voorhees. Meanwhile, head coach Rick Tocchet held a Zoom video press conference at 10 a.m. EDT. Key points:
- As he did on Thursday, Dan Vladar took a maintenance on Friday. He’s officially a game-day decision for Game Four on Saturday. In Game Three on Thursday, Vladar had two mishaps. He lost his skate blade and appeared to strain his lower-body in trying to push across. Later, he appeared to injure his right elbow when Bryan Rust fell on top of him.Vladar also lost his blocker on the play.
- Backup Samuel Ersson practiced on Friday with Aleksei Kolosov in the other net. In a hopeful sign, Vladar reported feeling better on Thursday. Moreover, Ersson never stretched or got his full gear on while Vladar with with the trainer in Game Three.
- Tocchet said there is still room for improvement in puck management and discipline relative to the latter part of Game Two and the start of Game Three.

- Emil Andrae (day-to-day, upper body injury) rested on Friday after practicing in full during Thursday’s session. Meanwhile, Owen Tippett (lower body) and Cam York (upper body) are among the team’s banged-up players but remain OK to play.
- Tocchet said that, if Andrae is ready to go for Game Four, he will have a decision to make about who plays the right side of the third defense pair: Noah Juulsen as a penalty killing option vs. Andrae’s superior puck-moving ability.
- Denver Barkey played sparingly in Games Two and Three after a strong opening game. Barkey took considerable extra skating at the end of Thursday’s practice after everyone else left the ice.

Flyers Daily: Special Guest Brian Boucher
Flyers Alumni goaltender Brian Boucher was Jason Myrtetus’ special guest for the Friday edition of Flyers’ Daily. Boosh broke down the first three games of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinal series between Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. He also took a look at the goaltending aspect of the series: Dan Vladar’s relative puck-handling skills and poise level. Finally, Brian discussed why types of injuries are workable for a goaltender and which types make it hard to play through successfully.

Alumni: Lower-Level Ticket Drawing
The Flyers Alumni have been doing random drawings for two free lower-level tickets for each home playoff game. More than 2,000 fans entered the drawing. The ask: 1) Follow the Flyers Alumni on Facebook and/or Twitter; 2) Submit a Flyers-related photo of personal meaning to you (dressed in Flyers gear, meeting the Alumni, attending a game, etc.). That’s it! The winner is selected at random.
In addition, as time permits, the Alumni are posting Flyers fan photo galleries and doing personal shout-outs to dedicated fans with personal stories to share about their fandom.
