New Canadiens Connection: Playoff Lessons

When you get into the Stanley Cup playoffs, everything tends to get magnified exponentially. And that goes double for the Canadiens in the hockey mecca of Montreal.

The pace, the pressure, the matchups — all of it has a way of exposing what a team really is, and where it still has work to do.

And for the Montreal Canadiens, this stretch has given us a pretty clear look at a few important things. Habs fans can see how they handle physical play and tight checking, how certain players respond in bigger moments, and where the roster still feels a little thin against a deeper, more experienced opponent.

At the same time, there are areas where they’ve shown they can compete, and maybe even hold their own in ways people weren’t sure about heading in.

So regardless of how this plays out, there’s real value in stepping back and asking what this playoff experience has actually told us about this team.
