The Edmonton Oilers made five selections on Day 2 of the 2026 NHL Draft. With no picks in the first round, the Oilers had to wait until Day 2 before they could start making selections.
Edmonton drafted three forwards, a defenseman, and a goaltender. Oilers GM Stan Bowman made a trade on Saturday, but it was only draft-related. Defenseman Darnell Nurse remains a member of the Oilers for the time being.
Bowman traded the 52nd overall pick to the Tampa Bay Lightning for picks 58 and 133 in the 2026 draft. Edmonton had very little draft capital entering the draft, so trading down to acquire an additional pick was a smart move.
