The Philadelphia Flyers (1-2-1) are hosting the Minnesota Wild (2-3-0) today in their third contest of their current four game home-stand. They lost their previous game on Thursday to the Winnipeg Jets by a 5-2 score. Minnesota lost on Friday night to the Washington Capitals 5-1, so tonight’s game is the second leg of a back to back for the Wild.

Philadelphia struggled to get their game into second gear against the Jets and their all-world goalie Connor Hellebuyck. This came after a strong start in their home opener on Monday against the Panthers.

Unsurprisingly, Flyers head coach Rick Tocchet has placed a premium on his team being able to get off to a quicker start.

““We’ve got to get to our game after the national anthem, not after the first 20 minutes,” he told reporters during his Saturday morning pre-game press conference.

Flyers Projected Starting Lineup

Initially, reporters at morning practice indicated that Tocchet was mixing up his lines, but in the end, the forward groups remain mostly static. The main changes see Rodrigo Abols and Nic Deslauriers drawing in at forward. Center Jett Lucanko and winger Nikita Grebenkin will be healthy scratches.

Meanwhile, on defense, Egor Zamula will play after being scratched for two games, while Adam Ginning will sit.

In addition, Daniel Vladar will get his third start of the season (1-1 record, 2.02 goals against average, .933 save percentage), as Tocchet continues to alternate his goalies in the early season.

Travis Konecny – Sean Couturier – Matvei Michkov
Tyson Foerster – Noah Cates – Bobby Brink
Trevor Zegras – Christian Dvorak – Owen Tippett
Niclas Deslauriers – Rodrigo Abols– Garnet Hathaway

Cam York – Travis Sanheim
Nick Seeler – Jamie Drysdale
Egor Zamula – Noah Juulsen

Daniel Vladar (Samuel Ersson)

Thanks for the article though. It’s a dumbass lineup.
