Flyers Pulse with Haley Taylor Simon: Episode 1

Hockey Hot Stove has added a brand new podcast to our content-sharing family: Flyers Pulse with HTS.

Flyers Pulse with HTS brings you the latest news, analysis, and inside stories about the Philadelphia Flyers. Hosted by Haley Taylor Simon, this podcast covers everything Flyers fans care about — from player performances and trades to season previews and fan insights. Whether it’s deep dives into star players, updates on prospects, or breaking down the team’s rebuild and future outlook, Flyers Pulse with HTS keeps you connected to the pulse of Flyers hockey.

In this episode of Flyers Pulse with HTS, we break down what the 2025 season holds for the Flyers. With Matvei Michkov set to make his NHL debut and Trevor Zegras now firmly part of the roster, the conversation centers on how these exciting pieces fit into Philadelphia’s long-term puzzle. We’ll explore the team’s overall goals and expectations while examining how established stars like Travis Konecny, Sean Couturier, and Cam York will influence the season’s narrative. Dive into discussions on trade whispers, breakout candidates, and the evolving identity of the Flyers as they gear up for a crucial campaign.

Flyers Pulse supplements our array of different voices and insights on the team.

On the blogging side, Bill Meltzer brings his 25-plus years of professional hockey writing experience (PhiladelphiaFlyers.com, NHL.com, IIHF.com, three hockey-related books) to daily Hot Stove blogs on the Flyers, Dallas Stars, and the NHL in general. Hot Stove shares the weekly Mondays with Meltzer episodes of Flyers Daily with host Jason Myrtetus. Flyers Daily, of course, is the flagship podcast of the official Flyers Broadcast Network).

Haley, who doubles as Hot Stove’s St. Louis Blues correspondent, brings her hockey passion, radio production experience and credentialed NHL coverage work to the table for Flyers Pulse with HTS. Anthony Mingioni, our leaguewide “Off the Post” flagship podcast co-host with Russ Cohen and Mike Augello, will provide his own periodic Flyers’ blogs. The O&B Puckcast, with Isaiah, Chef, and Dan Silver, is a fans’ eye view from decades-long Flyers watchers.

Chris Therien, who brings his decades as an NHL player and Flyers broadcaster, offers his semi-weekly Therien’s Take blogs plus content sharing from his Snow the Goalie podcasts with veteran Flyers reporter Anthony SanFilippo and local sports personality Russ Joy. Also, Chris will co-host an upcoming podcast called the Rusty Skates pod, featuring interviews with Flyers/NHL Alumni. In the interest of full disclosure, Chris is a part owner of Hockey Hot Stove, along with Meltzer, Augello and other partners.

Finally, HotStove will add content-share material from Chris Maher for the 2025-26 season. This includes the Chris Maher Show, with its podcast, call-in show hybrid format. Addtionally, Chris’ “Bieedling Orange” pods will be game-by-game live watchalongs of all 82 Flyers regular season games. Chris N content add a younger fan perspective (and one who is also interested in Flyers history) to our mix of NHL reporters, Flyers fans, and Alumni/broadcasters (Therien).

In combination, Hockey Hot Stove’s in-house and content-share assembly aims to bring the most comprehensive Flyers hard news coverage , analysis, talk and podcast entertainment on the web to the broad spectrum (double puns intended) of Flyers fans.

Side note: If you are interested in the WWE/pro wrestling/combat sports, Haley and Bill will co-host a new exclusing HHS podcast this summer called Ringside/Rinkside. It’s a mixture of hockey talk and WWE/combat sports (BKFC Ice Wars, in particular) discussion. Bill is an old-school kayfabe era lover and studies the pre-carny/kayfabe history, while Haley has a passion for the current-day business.
