I am starting to see some articles out there that Lappy may be in the running now.
I still like the idea of Ferschweiler. At 55 he is within the age. He has coached as an assistant in the NHL. Has had success at the college level. I think, at least on paper, he would have the ability to communicate with both the young players and the veterans. I don’t really care if he is good friends with Jonesy.
Lappy has been in the orginization for over a decade. Worn many hats. knows the orginization up and down. He is a good soldier. He has earned the opportunity to be the next flyers coach. coached many of the current flyers.
whoever the next coach is will not be the one to get them to contention as the roster and farm system isn’t that good. this is why keeping shaw or lappy is a possible IMO as tome this just isnt an attractive job at the moment outside of getting the big paycheck.
