ParticipantI’m thinking Arty is going to be in the Rock this year.
Arty didn’t play a bad game, but it wasn’t his best. Once the team got it’s feet under them part way through the 1st, they looked good. Tomorrows game should be a lot better

ParticipantIt was nice to see Rinzel look like the best player on the ice last night. I’m really looking forward to see how he handles a full NHL season. This kid looks like a star to be in the NHL.

I expect the ex-collegians Rinzel, Moore, etc to hit the wall around mid-season. By that point they would have played more games than they did at college against bigger, stronger competition, and with a lot more travel. It happened to Bedard and Vlasic last season during their second year in the league.
Rinzel looks very promising, but this is a growing year for him and the other kids. I just hope he and everyone else stay healthy.

ParticipantI missed the first period as my wife decided that we were going to drive across the state. The second period looked promising for these future stars. I would call the third period even. It looked like the Blues were going after Lardis with some heavy hits. Moore showed off his speed in OT and buried it. Good for him.

ParticipantI don’t understand how the Bears draft a QB who can throw a deep ball in college and absolutely suck at it at the pro level

ParticipantFirst period was pretty even. Both teams, Meh.Lardis had a couple of nice shots. Spellancy, not much of a fight there.

I saw the old Drew Doughty, the one who killed us in the 2014 Conf Finals the first time I saw tape of Rinzel.

Everybody is blaming Poles. Johnson asked for an offensive line and more offensive weapons. You can’t plug every hole in one year. On paper the defense should be much better. They hit a lot in camp it was a hard camp. But no starters played games. IDK.

One, Caleb rolled out a lot in college but in the NFL all 3 of his coordinators have made him a pocket QB. I’m not saying he shouldn’t be a pocket QB but at least roll him out some of the time and mix in more RPO too. He’s 6’1 so he can’t see in the pocket as well as Goff who is 6’4. He also gets a ton of batted balls at the line.
Two, the defense sucks with the new coordinator and no one should be surprised since he’s really never been that great of a coordinator and not sure how he kept getting work.

ParticipantHawks offering defenseman Matt Grzelcyk a PTO.
Powers reporting the Hawks are offering a one year deal at a modest increase above his ELC AAV. If he plays well probably rewarded with a more substantial multi-year deal next season. To me sound like it’s around 1M or 1.2M.
