I need someone else to post the question to The Athletic’s Powers, since they banned me from posting there.
Why did they ban you Wiz?!
It happened a few years back, and I have asked outright as to what exactly I was banned for and they just say post violation. It is not like I call poster’s out but may have educated someone, unless it was president related one in reply.
What I WAS doing is if someone had a prospect opinion near draft time, I did link to many of the draft age players by LINK so I didn’t have to cut/paste AND it got people there to read others. (Don’t go there now, becasue I am in notebook comments now for 2026, not writing profiles. MY first couple rounds are correct in that they have the correct prospects, but haven’t started changinf re-arranging rankings either just yet.)
The other thing on the Athletic I always go after Corey Pronman, who to me is less a watcher than a HEARer, using what scouts tell him are the players evaluations.
I have been wanting to go back and call him for the original 2025 Draft list first round that included two players tha were not even drafted!
But the only thing I did was a couple of times, I relayed the story when he was on the Sirius hockey channel in 2013 and when the host suggested that maybe Sasha Barkov was in the equal rankigs of Nate MacKinnon, Seth Jones, and Jonathan Drouin, Corey refused to consider him as on their levels…he was almost crying in his adamant refusal of Barkov as elite, and that he was correct.
I posted and reposted with every huge leap where he ranked prospects crazy earlier than they should have been.

He is at least top 3 goalie in the NHL so far this season, no question. This has been the biggest improvement for the Hawks year over year. Mrazek when he was on, was never in this category, he was just above average at best. It helps to have a goalie who is legit able to close the gap, he deserves so much credit for the Hawks points in the standings.
By bad it was Teuvo who stripped the puck. I think Rinzel had one earlier?

I think Kucherov probably felt pretty bad after the goal against. He was stripped of the puck, he tried to stop the pass to Nazar and missed and then he was slow on the backcheck and Donato beat him to the open ice on the goal.
The best save he made last night he didn’t get credit for. That back hand flip by Kucherov along the baseline and Knight had the presence of mind to duck under it and not knock it into his own net was one of the most impressive quick thinking paid I’ve ever seen by a goalie.
Dots, my opinion hasn’t changed a bit from the day KD hit that grand slam trade…. I can’t believe Knight is a Hawk. Can not believe our luck as Hawk fans. If his career goes as it damn well might they’re gonna raise Jones’ number to the rafters for being the trade piece to make Knight a Hawk.
We haven’t had a trio Rinzel, Nazur and Donato in 5 years who could pull off last nights winning goal. They’re technically our 2nd line but with the way Blashill’s mixing guys more like 1A and 1B.
Don’t know about you but I can’t pause or rewind games so it’s a chore to keep up with who’s on the ice together and what line it is. Fun though watching Blashill mix and match….. Dude is batting like 1.000 this yr with his shuffling while keeping the whole thing “normal” enough for the players that they pretty much keep their structure.
Makes sense, watching again last night makes one good defensive effort out of 4 or 5. Plays like a passenger, wish him luck but no reason to keep him on with hungrier players behind him.

Not much return, but sounds like Reichel is the one that asked for a trade. Honestly, I think some of this is on the Hawks coaches who spent too much time trying to make him into something he isn’t.

We’re gonna find out to some degree if the Hawks handled Reichel poorly. I hope the kid can find what’s missing but I’m not expecting much. Thru multiple coaches, good and bad, every benefit of every doubt for a few yrs now, preferential slotting and the guy finds ways to disappear the majority of the time.
But sure, a case can be made that most prospects wouldn’t make it thru the tank yrs. … Vancouver is a solid squad and looked good v the Hawks a week ago. Not a bad place to land for the Kraut.

Wow, you’re going back a lotta yrs if you were reading Al at HB. Sucks you couldn’t post but I remember you from somewhere. I don’t get around to too many message boards on the internets but I could swear I know a Haru from somewhere. .. You post anywhere else under that name?
With each game that goes by the Hawks are giving us more and more to post about and so far nearly every bit of it is good this yr. You got a lotta catching up to do.
