I don’t think there are any surprises

No, not really. I think the hawks are leaning frondell.

Here is McKenzie’s Final Draft Ranking.

I don’t think there are any surprises.

Some big guys in the Habs pick range, if they keep them, still think they will go with one safe/BPA pick and one swing-for-the-fences kinda pick.

It’s easier to trade him with a year left then as a pending RFA. Who knows what they’re internal cap is?

Ducks are giving Marner a dump truck of money

that would explain it yes, but they already had enough capspace no?

They have 36 million in cap space… there was lots of room to sign Marner to a crazy stupid amount of money deal without moving Zegras.

Based on the return, they just wanted him gone.

Ducks are giving Marner a dump truck of money and they have good young centremen already like McTavish and Carlsson…don’t love the return, but they got out of his contract

i really only know his name. never knew much about him.

Likely a decent chance this turns out ok to good, and if not, only cost for Poehling, a 2nd and a 4th.

    So not terrible.

pretty accurate recap Mash. highly talented, low risk to take, good move by Brière.
at the same time, one has to wonder why would ANA want to trade him so bad. where there’s smoke…

It is very funny though that they traded for him after yeeting Torts into the sun who shit all over him and the michigan.

Was a highly rated prospect (9th pick, 2019) that had a few decent years (65-ish points), but has been mostly injury plagued that last few seasons, and when healthy, has not shown much improvement.

His weakness is his defensive play and is terrible in face-offs.

Maybe if he is fully recovered, and in a new place, he can bounce back.
