NY has two ex Canucks as captains. Bo and JTM while Canucks remain captain less. I think Canucks should have no captain at this point but I do find to ironic.haha

Drance said something interesting the other day. No hurry to get Cootes Novotny or any prospect into the NHL. The expansion draft coming up with the NHL would mean you don’t need to protect them if it takes two more years for them to develop into the NHL.
Slow and steady wins the race, these kids aren’t NHL ready, they need to soak them for as long as possible as none of them are at the point where they’re impactful players at the NHL level.

Been devolving since he was drafted. Crappy season in London last year… terrible pre season game a couple of days ago… then more of the same today.
He was the backup when they drafted him. An Ian Clark pick. Hope his scouting is better with the goalie they took in the 3rd this year. Another Clark pick.
In Clark I trust & 4/5 years of grooming is needed. Others might pass him but that’s the risk in projecting goalies.
Novotny had himself a game. Cootes looked better. Rogowski looked better on the wing but he was on a better line also.
I just hope it doesn’t take the Canucks as long as it took Anaheim, or it’s taking Chicago, to come out of this rebuild. But I’d be prepared for another four years of this if I were a betting man.
4-5 years. Need a few more strong drafts. Keep on accumulating quality draft capital. Work hard, W’s aren’t important.
I’d like to see Novotny have an impact early, it would just make that Quit Hughes trade sweeter. Kid has a decent shot!
The excellent return they got for Hughes might help the Canucks shorten the rebuild by a year, or possibly two.
