A good bio on Kudryatsev. Tracked since drafted. I like his game & expect him to make it as 7/8th depth D this season.

VHG may be looking older and old no money but that is because of all the Tequila shots for breakfast and senorita’s for lunch. Oh wait you said VGK never mind carry on.

I missed the Hellebuyck rumour to the Sabres. That is an interesting prospect for the Sabres push to contend. One more team in the way for the Leafs for the Leafs 1st ever 4th round appearance is always worth looking forward to especially while the Canucks won’t be relevant for years. By then the Leafs will age out & onto another more years of ignominy.

The UFA market is on crawl mode & to be expected with a thin to nothing on the menu.

Trading is on a haitus not surprising. Still teams out there looking to make moves whether to add for a playoff push or cup contending or rebuilding. Larkin & Robertson remain the big names to be traded &/or resigned. Very quiet on the DeBrusk front. Seems to be the NMC & short list holding up any trade. Any other major trade movement looks unlikely. Looking more & more to be in season or TDL trades. The Ducks still face signing Gauthier with his eye on what Carlsson just got. That can be good news for the Canucks seeing a rival in a cap crunch.

The focus is on upcoming camps & preseason action. Then onto an earlier season start than usual in late September. I always thought that made more sense & even keep moving up sooner in September. Start camps soon after Labour day go from there. Family men have their summer with the kids & back to school & back to work for them. The season is long & drags into the next year too late.

VGK looking older & facing another cap crunch. The Oil unloaded Nurse but cannot say they’ve improved. SJ is the team to watch now. Great talent that is only getting better & an impressive A* draft they just had. The Ducks are still a good young team but took big hits on D. LAK stuck in neutral or slipping gears more like it. Leaves the basement cellar dwellers to fight it out for the highest lottery pick they can fall to in a very good 2027 draft. They have cap space to weaponize at some point if they go that route. That is the only bright side.
