Corduroy
ParticipantBring him back. He’s better than any tender under contract. That is not a high bar to meet though

ParticipantI think the NHLPA will force the NHL’s hand in allowing these kids to get back to work. There’s no legal precedent to keep them out of the league.

The NHL clearly doesn’t want any of the players back in the league no matter what. He’s the thing: If the league ties this thing up for half the season — by then, none of the players have played in two years — by the time any of them would be game ready, what team would sign them even if you take PR out of the equation?

Go to Europe for a year to work the rust off.
The league are nothing but hypocrites.July 28, 2025 at 12:56 pm #18463FlyerFrank

The league are nothing but hypocrites.Everybody besides Hart was already playing in Europe. Three are pretty borderline if not clear non-NHL caliber players. Hart and Dube are really the only clear, solid NHLers. Craig MacTavish and Dany Heatley killed people in booze related car crashes. The guys who can play in the league should get a chance.

I was referring to hart to go to Europe
Dube and formenton were nhl level players. Mccloud to an extent. Today no idea.

Yeah, Dube is, I fixed that before seeing your comment. Formenton has been in Europe since 2022 but didn’t play anywhere last season. He wasn’t great in the Swiss league. He did have an 18 goal season in Ottawa before that. Not sure what’s going on there. Hart and, to a far lesser extent, Dube are the only guys who look like they’ll get much interest. The league is in the wrong to ban these guys but which team wants to bring in a borderline guy under these circumstances?

KeymasterThat is probably Hart’s next move: spending a season in Switzerland or Germany.

Amy idea why he didn’t play last season anywhere? His choice ? Lack of interest ?
