ParticipantLooking at this new site, it has possibilities. One thing that might improve it would be a larger font for easier reading. Also, it’s difficult uploading avatars and links. Going through a 3rd party website to upload avatars could be difficult for some of the less computer inclined individuals. On the hockey side, maybe a score ticker at the top so as to keep up on the out of town scores as you participate online. If anything else comes to mind, I’ll try to remember to bring it to you and the rest of the administrators who run the website.

ParticipantGood suggestions. Thank you! Specific to the font size, you can enlarge it from the accessibility menu.

ParticipantGlad I viewed this thread! Just made the font bigger… easier on my eyes! Thanks!

ParticipantVZ, if you click the accessibility menu on the left side of the site (the red circle with the stick figure person), you can enlarge the text size.

ParticipantMuch better with the Fonts enlargement. One other item; when you go to the forums page, instead of the name of the team, maybe the team logo instead.

ParticipantQuick question – how do I set up my avatar? I set up an account at Gravatar, but can’t figure out how to connect the two.

ParticipantNevermind. It’s working now.

ParticipantThanks for posting this thread – I’ve got a few.
Like a certain other website that arbitrarily bans people, you should be able to easily quote other posts – and have the post and the poster automatically populate in your reply.
You need to put some sort of restriction on the size of images – I accidentally posted a huge picture in the Leafs forum. Forgive me – I left it up so show you as an example. It will get very messy if people start posting huge images.
“Thumbs up and thumbs down” buttons on individual posts would be helpful (like Reddit). It really helps to identify people who aren’t there for constructive debate – they are just there to troll.
And an “ignore” button that makes certain posters’ posts invisible to individual users.
Thanks!

ParticipantI’m a big fan of “blocking” versus “muting” other users.
Muting a troll allows that troll to continue reading the target’s posts and reply to them where the entire forum can read them, but the person who muted can’t see any of it.
Blocking prevents trolls from ever seeing their target’s posts and prevents them from continuing to harass and also does everything else that muting does.
Block > Mute
Of course, in a well-moderated forum, neither function is truly needed.

ParticipantMike and I had our update meeting with the developer yesterday. Suggested adding quote responses. Didn’t think about”ignore” button, thumbs up/down but it’s something I think we should discuss internally. We’re done with Phase 1 (building a site with basic functionality) and moving into Phase 2 (some additions, some tweaks for user experience quality). I’ll add your suggestions to our next discussion topics.

ParticipantI know I mentioned it before and Mike replied but adding here just in case you have an ongoing list – the ability to send private messages to other users might be helpful. Ideally one that quotes the prior conversation because it’s hard to remember what you said by the time your reply to a reply of a reply…..lol
Oh and emojis perhaps?
Sorry jus thought of a few more from an old discussion board I was on that I liked personally,
1. It used to show when you logged on the # of active members (and list their names) which was cool to be able to see how busy (or slow) the board was.
2. Used to show on the main blog page latest posts with a link to them since you last were there
3. You could filter and just view what had been posted since you last visited which was nice also.May 8, 2025 at 9:57 pm #3902PDO Speedwagon
ParticipantLove the site so far.
Some requests :
1)
DM’s – private messages2) Report/Flag post button
3) The accessibility button to increase font sizes doesn’t appear on the mobile version (Android, Brave browser).
4) Maybe reach out to Michael Stuart (ex-HB) to be a Tampa blogger here.
5) Quote replies automatically populated (mentioned previously by another poster).
6) Live scoreboard ticker?
7) Block user (or mute)
8) Punny user titles based on post count or longevity.
That’s all I can think of at the moment.
Keep up the good work.
