Just got a Brabus G Wagon and the battery setup looks like something from a spaceship
Picked up a used Brabus G63 last week and I’m still figuring out all the extra buttons and modes but this morning I opened the hood just to check fluids and there’s basically a whole secondary electrical system in there with what looks like a massive AGM battery tucked away and I’m realizing I have absolutely no idea what happens if this thing ever dies on me because it’s not like a regular Mercedes where you just swap it out and drive off and there’s probably some complicated power management going on with all the extra lighting and the exhaust flaps and whatever else they’ve wired up. I was poking around trying to find out if I need a specific spec battery for when the inevitable happens because I’ve learned from past German cars that the battery in this heat is basically a consumable item that lasts three years max and then leaves you stranded somewhere embarrassing like the valet at the mall and I’d rather be prepared than caught off guard. Came across a page at batteryzoneuae.com/barbus-battery-replacement that actually lists the right specs and it’s got me thinking maybe I should just preemptively replace it with a fresh one and have someone who knows what they’re doing handle the coding so I don’t end up with a Christmas tree of warning lights and a car that thinks it’s possessed. Anyone else with a Brabus actually had to do a battery swap and did you just go to the dealer or find an independent place that could handle the extra complexity without charging you a premium just because it says Brabus on the side?
