Participanttoo bad I have to think about the Leafs again.
I would like them to just trade any players to Edmonton to help Mcdavid win a cup. whoever they think will help.
Just not another stinky US team like Florida
Better stop using the Internet. Invented by the US Department of War.
Stop breathing air too, I heard Americans also breathe it.

ParticipantI truly wonder how much evidence some need to see to admit Mitchy-poo just doesn’t have it. His stats in big games are truly abysmal. Glad I don’t have to keep hoping he turns it around for next 8 years. The Leafs could not afford to pay him $13M+ per year just HOPING he finds some space in the playoffs to make a sick pass.
Helluva player, just not when it counts.
$13+? Hahahahahahahah
His take home is about $7.5 million in Nevada where the taxation is only 37% and not 53.53% like Ontario. To match it here he would need about $15.5 million. It’s the same reason why Matthews only makes league minimum and gets everything else as a bonus on July 1st while living in Arizona where it’s only 39.5%. The captain will cost a HUGE raise next contract too since teams can only give a maximum of a 60% July 1st bonus now. The league quickly wiped away this loophole for northern US teams and Canadian teams to maintain its focus on building the game in the southern US.

ParticipantI’m glad that the NHL is soon back. Too many nights to do nothing but talk to the wife. I can only take so much of that and go shovel snow. I’ve seen enough snow. I haven’t seen enough NHL hockey. Treliving better be ready to pull that trigger on McMann…..the next David Clarkson. Say goodbye to Rielly while we’re at it. Retool on the fly and get ready for next year. Let’s see a few Marlies up with the big team to see what we’ve got. Mitch the bitch can show the league his prowess by getting knocked out of the second round. Enjoy your little slug Las Vegas.
Enjoy missing the playoffs with no 1st round pick and a “retool” that turns into the mediocrity of the Phil Kessel era before the quality players, one by one, give up on this franchise and leave it to start all over again.

Participantbut, but , but he gat 3 assist on the GWGs against Florida …….🤦♂️
It was actually one GWG and two primary assists on GWGs vs Florida.
How many GWGs did Tavares, Rielly and Nylander contribute to vs. Florida again?
Oh right, fucking zero. Unless, of course, you count the GWGs that they helped Florida score with them on the ice. In that case, then it would be a lot more than zero.

I truly wonder how much evidence some retards need to ignore before they admit that without Marner the Leafs went from 1st in the division to almost a lottery team for most of the year.
Sure they can “afford” to fill the team up with 3rd line plugs and miss the playoffs (with no 1st round pick to boot).
Certainly counted in the 4-Nations, GWG primary assist in elimination game OT. That 5v5 too by the way since you’re going to bitch about that when he beat Finland 1v3 in OT of an elimination game.

ParticipantConnor McDavid and Mitch Marner…….Never a bride, only a bridesmaid. Auston showed that he was an elite talent at the Olympics. It’s not all about the goals and big shots, but the 200 foot game and stellar defense. You win with players like that. You don’t win with players who play a fancy game. Case closed!
Explain how Marner beat Matthews in the 4-Nations with a game winning primary assist when Matthews didn’t do the same in OT today?
Your logic is complete Marner Derangement Syndrome. It makes no sense. Both players have beat each other in a best on best format with fantastic offensive and defensive contributions. It’s actually more evidence to prove that splitting them up was among the most retarded decisions in the history of the Leafs franchise.
Canada and the USA are two teams that are so closely matched it’s like saying heads will always beat tails.

ParticipantWe were told by some asshat goalies can’t win games they only lose them. What a goal post shifting idiot.
Hellebuyck did not score 2 goals and win the game by himself today but he was the best goalie in the world today. If Binnington had faced 40+ shots, it could have easily been a 4-1 loss. Binnington was not terrible today but he was the 2nd best goalie. In a closely contested game where Canada outshot the USA almost 2 to 1 for most of the game, having the 2nd best goalie can be the difference between winning 1-0 or losing 2-1 in OT.
The goals Binnington allowed today were the type of goals that historically a Roy, or Brodeur, or Belfour or Price, or even Luongo would have saved. And that was the major weakness on this team and it showed in every elimination game from Czechia to Finland to finally the USA. Had they scored on the 5 on 3 or if MacKinnon could bury an open net, the game is different, yes, but today they needed Binnington to go save for save with Hellebuyck and he was one save too short.
The goal posts haven’t moved at all. Certain retards, like yourself, said Hellebuyck couldn’t win the big game. Today, he made them all look retarded because for the first time in his career, he wasn’t playing behind a complete dog shit team like Winnipeg. Yes, he had to do his fair share of work but he earned the win.
If Hellebuyck gets traded to a team like Carolina, it would be night and day compared to what he has to do now.

ParticipantHoly fuck, I literally said Marner was a great 3v3 player, your ignorance knows no bounds. But I don’t give AF about 3v3 as the Leafs don’t ever play it. If the Olympics continue to have 3v3 OT, hell yeah, I take Mitch on my team every time, but I’m happy the Leafs didn’t overpay for a guy that CONTINUES to disappear in big games. He had ONE great pass today. Oh, he’s good defensively, you say? Matthews had more good defensive plays when it mattered.
Now, my Captain has learned what it takes to win in clutch situations. This will help his career.
He’s great at 5v5, 4v4, 3v3, PP and PK because he’s a great player. Your retardation is limitless.
Contitnues? Did he disappear when it was an elimination game vs. Finland? Nope. Took on 3 guys and won the game, 1v3.
He was great defensively, he was trusted in many high danger scenarios and did very well in them.
Using Marner Derangement Syndrome logic on Matthews, he did fucking nothing today. Did not score a goal. Did not win the game. Had an assist on a goal that Boldy did basically everything by himself. Matthews “experience” is no better than what Marner proved by winning in OT vs. Finland and winning in OT vs. the USA at the Four Nations.
