I like this roster and think if it wasn’t for injuries and bad coaching decisions, we’d be a playoff team, who could do some damage.
So why is Vegas still #1 in their division with the most injuries, including using mostly trash goalies all year, in the NHL? How are the Panthers still in the playoff picture? How is Tampa Bay running away with the Atlantic and winning the East? Montreal? Islanders? Dallas? Buffalo?
All these teams have the same or MORE injuries than the Leafs.

Matthews with a Penalty shot in OT!!!
It happened weeks ago that Laughton got a
PKPS and failed miserably because he was exhausted. The same thing appeared to happen with Matthews.The NHL needs to change the penalty shot rule to give the team the option to either take a PP or take the penalty shot.
It might result in less penalty shots (which is still fine because when they do finally happen, it will be a lot more special) but teams would probably capitalize more often overall.
or allow a different player to take the PS.
both players were gased when the PS was given to them.
