Nope, Alberta is hard core right conservative, the origin of the Reform Party and why there are so many ultra right wing cons today who are confused why the more Ontario/Quebec/Eastern style conservatives don’t necessarily see eye to eye with them.
Toronto is liberal/NDP as fuck, so the reaction would be WAY different than Edmonton.
I’m not saying this to be a know it all whatsoever, but yes, there is a notable difference here when it comes to the population type.

Berube was the wrong coach for this team. Berube has always been a mid, average coach, usually misses the playoffs or 1st round exits. The one year he had a Cup, his D and goaltending was absurd compared to the Leafs.
The correct coach was Quenneville. And the Ducks are soaring.

Quenneville would never survive in Toronto and even he knows that. A: the team would never offer him anything because of how the media and fanbase would react and B: he would never sign it for the same reason.
