ParticipantThey’re at risk at missing the playoffs as they are currently a wild card team and the division is a mix of rising young teams and sleeping giants.
I predicted from before the season they would make the playoffs and lose in the early rounds. Getting rid of guys like Domi, who step up in the playoffs, only decreases your playoff success odds.
If they miss the playoffs entirely, it won’t be because they kept Domi over not keeping him. It’ll be injuries, bad PP, decrease in goaltending numbers and a general weak collection of pieces by a bad GM.

ParticipantThe Leafs don’t have the assets to acquire what they need in the top-six anyway so clearing an average salary is hardly the only thing standing between having a top-six forward and not having one. The Leafs need to go into the playoffs with more guys who play with bite like Domi, not less.
Maccelli, Kampf, Jarnkrok, McMann, are all proven dog shit playoff failures and can go away. But Domi stays. Domi wasn’t a 4th line player in the playoffs last year and won’t be this year either.
Soooo… They’re not going to be golfing and they’ll be making the playoffs now?
Ok. If holding onto Domi keeps UG on the “leafs are making the playoffs” positive side of things I say keep Domi too 👍

ParticipantOk, Berube is making a mistake but Max is still a $3.75M guy on the 4th line.
So you don’t think they should add a top six forward? You want to go into the playoffs with the top six there now? If they do ignore you and add a guy, McMann likely comes down to the third and someone (Roy or Joshua) moves to the 4th.
I like Domi but I just don’t see the fit, especially at that cap hit.

ParticipantDomi playing on the 4th line is Berube making a mistake. They’ve already spent money on failed top-six forward experiments.
Domi stays.
