ParticipantI’ve gotta ask myself, why does it seem that Minnesota is so desperately trying to rid themselves of Rossi. Is he a flawed player in their minds?

ParticipantI would not add Rossi if he’s asking $7M for 7Yrs. Sporting New sites note that this is the rumor that has “supposedly” stop discussions with the Flyers. Additionally, as Bill has noted, he is small and although there is a fit for certain players with skill, the team overall cannot be smallish in nature in today’s NHL. So, concur that it’s a NO for me on both of these players with the current information out there.

ParticipantMoney aside, Rossi doesn’t make much sense for the long term goal. We still have Coots and Cates, who they won’t let walk away. Realistically they sign Cates to a 2/3 year deal which helps the bottom 6. Now in that timeframe Jett comes up and on top of that if they take a center this draft. And then add Rossi into that? It doesn’t add up for the long term plan. Ideally they take one of the left over bigger centers in Desnoyers or Frondell and the rest falls into place from there. Either way though none of these names still are a true #1 C maybe in a perfect world if the development is perfect Desnoyers if we get lucky and land him.
