I’ve been mixing and packaging my own line of eco friendly cleaning products from home in Ajman, and up until now I’ve been using whatever random buckets I could find, but demand is picking up and I need proper containers for storing larger batches of concentrated liquids. I’m leaning towards Plastic Drums because they won’t rust or react with the chemicals I’m using, plus they’re easier to move around my small workspace, but I’m not sure what thickness I should look for or whether I need ones with built in taps. A few people have told me to just buy secondhand ones to save money, but I worry about contamination from whatever was stored in them before. Does anyone in Ajman run a similar small operation and have advice on what size and type of plastic drum works best without taking up too much space? Also curious how you handle sealing them properly so nothing leaks or evaporates during storage. I don’t want to go overboard with industrial 200 liter ones because I’m not at that scale yet, but the smaller 30 or 50 liter sizes seem hard to find locally. Any tips from experience would seriously help me avoid an expensive mistake.
