CoachFrenchy
ParticipantThanks for your feedback…
Absolutely. Great game.I’ll do my weekly recap tomorrow:

• And what’s coming next weekCoachFrenchy
ParticipantHuge win by the Blackhawks and only two comments about the game… where is everyone? This is a three-game winning streak and nobody seems excited? Really strange.

ParticipantGreat observation about Levshunov! He’s a young defenseman, and with D-men, it often takes a couple of NHL seasons to truly reach their potential. You can already see his confidence growing with every game. Let’s give him at least two full seasons before we really evaluate what kind of player he’ll become. I love his upside so far—thanks for sharing your thoughts!

ParticipantThank you…. Have a great weekend
CoachFrenchy
ParticipantShould I keep doing Game Threads if there’s barely any response?
Thanks
Great game for the Blackhawks
CoachFrenchy
ParticipantAbsolutely… Great game overall… Bedard 4 points #1 top scorers with Celerbini
2-2-1 on the road trip… next Detroit

ParticipantPDO, for people who don’t know, is simply Shooting Percentage plus Save Percentage. Spencer Knight boosts that number because of his strong SV%, but overall the team’s PDO is still solid.
If the Blackhawks can cut down on their High-Danger Chances Against, that will push their game to another level. Limiting those grade-A looks will help the Hawks become a much better and more consistent team.

ParticipantThanks for your comment and for reading my article. You’re right — this is one of the rare games where the Blackhawks are actually the favourites. It’s a perfect chance to see how they handle that extra pressure.
A win here could boost their confidence and change the whole feel of this road trip.
Enjoy the game tonight!

ParticipantFirst, thank you for the great comment. Really strong points about Bedard. You’re right, his drive to learn and improve stands out. He knew exactly what he needed at the end of last season, and he came back stronger. His faceoffs and shot attempts have taken a real step forward. No doubt in my mind he will become an elite NHL player. Once he’s surrounded by stronger wingers, he’ll take another big jump.

ParticipantThanks for your comment. Yes, they got the win tonight — and what a game. Knight was unbelievable, and the whole team stuck with their structure from start to finish. This group never quits. Bedard is the engine, but every night someone else steps up beside him. Tonight it was Knight and Bertuzzi. Now the road trip sits at 1-2-1, and if they can grab one more win before heading home, finishing 2-3-1 would be a great result.
CoachFrenchy
ParticipantGreat Performance of Knight and Bertuzzi..
Road trip: 1-2-1
Goodnight

ParticipantVery fun and good game so far…
But Knight keeps the Hawks in the game

ParticipantIn today’s NHL, the philosophy of team building has completely changed. You can’t rely on free agency anymore. Every franchise now locks up its core players early and long term — just look at Carolina, Florida, or Colorado. Most of these teams already have six to eight players signed for several years ahead.
That tells you everything: the new path to success runs through the draft and smart trades, not chasing big-name UFAs. Teams have to develop from within. The difference between a good rebuild and a failed one often comes down to the people behind the bench — the development coaches who turn raw prospects into NHL contributors.
If you want to build a contender today, it’s about drafting the right players, making smart trades, and developing them properly. You can’t afford to miss too many times at the draft table anymore.

ParticipantWell said, and thanks for your comment! You’re absolutely right — some coaches preach that the moment you lose the puck, you need to switch immediately into defensive mode. The best teams manage that transition with strong gap control through all three zones. It’s all part of the learning curve for a young team in a rebuild, and you can see them gradually improving in that area every game.
