For me, Matheson is the more expendable one as we already have 2 offensive Ds (Hutson & Dobson) in our top 4.
oh for sure no doubt I expect him to be traded for a top6 F, hopefully a C.
but then Matheson was extremely solid on the PK last season. with Savard retired, they’ll need someone to play these minutes.It does make more sense in my book … you pair an offensive D with a more defensive one and they get to play on their natural side.

If they can a good top 6 forward, its still somethin they need. Other than Demidov, who belongs on that 2nd line? Laine? Newhook? Dach?

you’re right, Laine Dach and Newhook do not belong, but they are still on the team! trade them first, otherwise they’ll be on the 3rd line, with Gally and Anderson on the 4th, and we’ll be 15M over the cap
