What’s up with MM? The short-shifting and skipping rotations reasons from last year (out of shape, out of position, etc) don’t really wash this year. Especially because we struggle so much to score. Thx for addressing it partially in the blog today. Still, it doesn’t really answer the question fully. Flyers were playing from behind all night. So why bench Michkov in the 3rd period? I do agree that Tocc certainly seemed to be coaching to get the game to OT. I like Tocc but I don’t like how shackled MM still is.
As far as I could tell, Michkov got no ice time in OT except for when he came out of the box after serving the penalty. WTF is Tocchet doing with him?

I thought we got off to a decent start then it fell apart. Glad Vladdy looked like himself again. Please waive Jiricek! He’ll clear. If not? No big loss.
People are over-reacting to last night because it’s Philadelphia. That said,unless they find a point threat, all these down low tweaks on the power play won’t help much.
Martone showed a pulse last night. He’d been having a very meh camp. Michkov looked terrific!!!! I don’t knows if Knuble or Jett will make the team quite yet but they are giving Danny something to think about.
Not going to get carried away about Flyers NHL roster shutting out the Providence Bruins. But it was still good to see.
