Totally agree on the players, nice surprises that reminds me a bit of Kasper last year, and a nice problem for Todd and Steve.
I’m not a big fan of Soderblom (his play wasn’t terrific or consistent last season) but he played well indeed.
ASP seems a bit too young to be ready for nhl now but what a nice ceiling and skills.
Couldn’t see Buium a lot… Lombardi, Mazur, Danielson are ready to go (for me at least !).
I didn’t understand Compher and Seider’s rugged moments, when you’re on the same team ?
Finnie, the best surprise indeed. He could play without being out of place, and is willing to get better. But is there room for him ?
Too many good young ones, not enough room…

By the way, some people think trading ASP for Hugues would be a no brainer… no way, keep ASP !

    Hello from across the sea,

a good pace on the video ! They will be ready to start and will have to avoid a slump if they want to succeed. Usually, january/february are not the best time for Detroit…
Yes, Nate on line 1 would certainly be nice to see. Maybe not at the start of the year but who knows ?
Thanks for the news, let’s go on with the game !

I watched Traverse city on google maps and it seems to be a nice place to visit. So far away from Detroit ! It probably doesn’t seem far away for you because the distances are so huge, but in France it would be a quarter of the country to cross… funny and interesting how we may look at things differently.

By the way, nice guitars on the videos, a special music/hockey room, how lucky !

I’m going to repeat an old message I sent : there is a problem with the site and the messages ! If you click on forums or home and Detroit, you don’t have the same new messages, answers or articles so is it a problem with the links ? Depending on where you click, everything is different : time of the answers, name of the people who wrote, or even your articles… you can never know what is really the last one or if your comment is going to go through all these bugs.

Again, a bit annoying ! Time to find an answer so everyone can follow the new season coming soon…

So sad for Ed, I hope that will not slow him down for the first half of the season (wasn’t it Mo who didn’t start one year at training camp and it was long to come back at full speed ?).

Youngsters are ready and will make some mistakes but at least there will skate and move and be willing to win, not like some vet who have reached their ceiling and, even if they know the game better, shouldn’t start the season. Just give a chance to Nate, ASP, and Buium ! Mazur and Lombardi could be like Kasper, so we don’t need them yet, for me. No room yet !

Wouldn’t it be nice to see ASP and Buium (probably not worse than Al J) play, skate, do some mistakes but improve the D ?
For Cossa, we still have to wait : consistency in GR this year !

I really hope Yzerman (or is it Todd choosing ?) will give them a chance if they perform well enough in the pre seadon and camp.

    Hi again,

I totally agree, game 1 was nice to watch and Buium was a pleasant player to follow, as well as Lombardi, ASP, Danielson and (yes, I have to write it…) MBN. I liked Doucet too (what a pass to MBN !).
Murphy is way too agressive for me, it is useless (opinion).
Game 2 with Rudy would have been a win.
So, Wallinder or Buium on the team ? ASP looks almost ready (huge skill, I love the way he sees the game) but needs more muscle, I think.
    Wait and see !

    Hi from across the sea,

    thanks for the comment !
The game seems to be nice to watch and the big names were there on the scoreboard, a nice surprise but it is only one game, let’s wait for the other one.
If it goes on like this, it will be really difficult for Tod and Steve to choose between the young names to join Detroit, and that’s a good problem to have.
Danielson seems ready, so does MBN (though I’m not a big fan of power forwards, he can bring some points). ASP ?
Eager to watch tomorrow’s video ! Season is warming up.
    Take care.

    Hi again,

a bit of frustration there because I sent a comment a few hours ago and it worked, and now it is nowhere ! The site is not working well… I read another comment from Mike I think, and it has disappeared too.
    Xfiles is coming back !

And when you come to the main menu, you don’t have the freshest news, so you have to go to Detroit’s menu to check if there’s anything new.

Just details but it is a bit annoying !

    Hi there,

it will be a bit too late for me (2 or 3 am out here) so I hope to read a nice review of the games (with nice videos) !
Everything’s coming back to NHL, a season which could see some surprises in Detroit, at least concerning the young ones. It has been so long waiting !
I don’t know a lot about Buium, and I hope it will be a pleasant surprise (like Al J or Kasper).
Talking about Mc David, if I can understand properly, it would not be before next year at the best (“if !”)? So we would probably lose Kane (I like him, especially with Debrincat but he is not getting younger) at the same time…
And a +1 year for the young ones.
    Pleasant years are coming !

    Hello again,

my last comment doesn’t seem to go through, maybe it is because I was wondering about the price to pay to go to a rink, compared with a football stadium in France ? Strange…

I just wrote that, to me, Danielson seems to be “clever” enough to already play and improve in NHL, just like ASP (but is he strong enough physically yet ?) : they have the proper mindset. MNB seems like a teenager happy to play but not mature enough, but maybe I’m wrong. Time will tell !

By the way, I was wondering : in an NHL rink, if you are at the top, can you see the game properly or are they too far away ? I can imagine the best seats are probably quite expensive. In France, we have small rinks but you may watch games just behind the glass. Nice if you want to see all the strategies !
