I thought the Pens started to wear down in the third, but the bugaboo of blowing 3rd period leads has returned from last year. The depth at wing is noticeable without Rak and Braz. Koiv still can’t find the net. This is turning into a much more interesting year than I thought. Seems like the team has the fortitude to compete every night. Just missing a two or three parts to make it a real playoff team.

I’m here Pags66. Way to F us like that hahaha

Pens played a perfect f’n game of hockey for 40 mins. Sucks to lose that one but I do think this team has a different feel to it, for sure, and they will learn from this. Jarry had to save a few of those. If he does, Pens win.

Not my fault tonight, I refrained from posting a damn thing after last game haha.

Thought we were going to blow another one. Kept hitting the post all night and couldn’t put them away.

I gotta say… Those experts who said Kindel can’t skate look like fools. He’s not Mackinnon or anything, but he’s plenty fast enough.

Pens need wings. Rust is fading. Rak out another 6+ weeks. Koiv isn’t doing much. Hallander isn’t top 6. Unfortunately we had to call up Heinen instead of a young prospect. I’d rather see Avery Hayes get a look.

Spoke too soon. The Pens from last season showed up.

I wish Grinder was here to tell me why Ben Kindel sucks.

Lol…just reuse any of the plethora of reasons why Geno or Jake suck.

I’m overjoyed to admit I was dead f’n wrong about that pick. Whoever scouted Kindel and talked us into taking him absolutely nailed it. Kid is gonna be special.

Anyone else feel like we’re playing last year’s Pens in Blue jerseys tonight. Man the Leafs look dead and buried.

Yes! Although they haven’t given us 10 odd-man breaks. They look like a team whose window has closed.

This kid is the real deal. Dubas stole him in the draft. Get him a real winger.

Sick goal. Sounds like McG will be heading to WB when he’s healthy which makes sense. Hopefully they Have McG, Koiv and Kindel all getting full time roles at some point this season.

Zam Plante is having a real good year down in the ncaa. 2nd highest scoring line in the ncaa. No big name line mates either to carry them. Looking good for a 5th round pick. I was watching the Detroit game and they have a 20 year old rookie from the 7th round killing it. Of course he’s on the top line LW with Larkin and Raymond which helps. He was well over a ppg his last year in juniors so I’m curious as to why he was a 7th round pick. But good development and supporting cast could really make some of our picks playable. If we have good linemates though is a big factor haha

Yohe was on the radio earlier today saying the Pens are leaning towards keeping Brunicke and Kindel. I don’t know if it’s the right move long term, but you can’t say they haven’t earned it. I saw Horcoff is having a nice start at Michigan

Háase reports Emil was cut from wbs training camp and sent to wheeling. He never showed up. Apparently his exact physical whereabouts are unknown by the team.

That sucks as he seemed a promising D prospect. Suppose obviously not if he didn’t make the baby pens but these cupboards are so damn bare we need something lol

What stiff in WB were they keeping over Emil? I saw Aho is still down there.

I have to laugh… Sheary on the top line is soooooo Sully. He tortured us in Pittsburgh with Sheary in the top 6.

If muse can do anything with this D corps I’d be impressed. Hopefully we can pick up a young dman from a crowded blue line. Anaheim is a defensive master at drafting. Anyone will be happy to leave buffalo, Montreal might be a bit crowded? With Dobson and Hutson not much room for reinbacher although he seems to be injured often. If Pickering can’t force his way on to the team with this LD that’s not a good sign.

LD is a disaster. Really concerning that Pickering didn’t make the team. I can’t believe Jones made the squad over Pickering. He blows.

Boyd described the changes better than I could. From my untrained eyes (in the first two games), they played a tighter checking game with a ton of puck support.

Then… The last couple of games, the muscle memory kicked in and they were back to trading chances with suspect goal tending. Almost night and day between the first two games and the last two. I don’t think this team has the legs (or will) to play how Muse wants them to play. The home opener against the Rags was comical.

Penguins really have something with Kindel and Brunicke.

Pens toying with the Rags early on. I think Koi will get plenty of looks this season. It’s a numbers game right now and he’s waiver exempt.

What would be your guys thoughts on doing something like I believe Anaheim and … someone else did and limit kindel and brunicke some games to allow them rest and more time for bulking up? Or just play him till the wheels fall off?

If we are close to a wild card spot I’d say maybe go hard but I’d think at any bit of wear and tear I would rest them for a road trip or a few games. Help keep the penguins injury curse away from them.

If this were a contender, I’d do that (give them games off). I still can’t get past thinking this team is a bubble team at best and I want them to be patient for one more year. They should have been giving Sid/Geno and Letang random games off the last couple of years. A compressed schedule this year is going to be tough for this team.

Enjoyable game from start to finish. Unlike the past few seasons, at no point was I waiting for the inevitable choke and loss. 81 More like that winning close to half and I think it would be a successful season.

Still not sold on the pick, but Kindel definitely has a high hockey IQ. If he puts in the work on his skating, we might have something there. 2nd line looked great, although they didn’t have to do much back checking.

And I almost feel bad for Rags fans…tonight they will experience their inaugural “I thought we played well, just have to get to our game” presser. Hopefully one of many lol.

Pens played one of their best games in years. Every phase was just better. Puck support was amazing. I don’t even remember the last time they played like that. The breakouts were tremendous. I don’t think they gave up one odd-man break the whole game….wow. Eff Sully. He got 5 years more than he should. Looks like the Rangers caught the Sully flu…..’cause they sucked. That teams window has slammed shut.
