ParticipantIf they can get Bennet for cheap, sure. Will that happen? Nope.
Tavares is much more likely
I think he is the ideal person to get, but I do not think he comes to Montreal.
He will be with Toronto.

ParticipantGiroux a 37 ans, en fin de carrière, il jouait pour les sens… personnellement je m’en passerais lol.
Yeah, I’d rather give Dach a 3rd or 4th (or how many ever chances he has had) shot at it before that signing.

ParticipantIm all for trying Demidov at C at camp
sure why not. sign Giroux to take faceoffs and play wing like he was doing on OTT.
that sounds like a plan “E” or “F” lol.
F for fail….

Participantand Granlund is 5’10 185 lbs. pass
I’m not worried about his size, but he did a good job with the kids in San Jose and I think he would do well helping Demidov.
IT is a stop-gap signing if they cannot get someone else or they have an eye on something down the road.

ParticipantKings GM Ken Holland, who has been working the phones a lot lately, believes we’ll see a lot of trades over the next few days through the Draft. Whether the Kings get in on the action: “We’ll see.”
This could be fun!

ParticipantSo I was just thinking about 2C and how trading for one is looking difficult, but what if we signed Mikael Granlund and traded for Peterka. I asked ChatGPT about the line and it seems to think Demidov would be a good C. I believe elite prospects has come to the same conclusion from watching his play.
JJ Peterka brings finishing ability, speed, and puck skills that mesh well with Granlund’s playmaking IQ and Demidov’s controlled two-way center play.
Together, they could form a well-rounded, high-danger line effective in both primary scoring and defensive stability.Just a thought…..weed and boredom lead to deep thoughts lol
I honestly think Granlund is the option they are looking at, he has been my low cost “fill in” ’til they can get something better down the line guy. This seems low risk to me, for 2-3 years, and he can move down to the 3rd line later.
And I do think it makes sense they look for an upgrade on the wing for that second line, leaving Newhook and Dach to fight out for playing time on the 3rd line.
But I have a feeling we will end up with a second line addition (either a winger or a center) and a veteran RHD instead.

ParticipantSeems to be limited, tried to respond to a long set of quotes from the previous page but would not post it (even though it acted like it was going to post).
Regardless, good change/update.
ya, I tried to quote AND add a GIF, did not work
Still, some welcomed progress.

That is cool compared to what we had the last few days.
Man up, put some ice on your junk, and drink water.
You will be fine.
