you should use the same chair you had in 93, in honor of history and tradition.

seriously though Fowler did look good, and the team in front of him played a very solid game overall. if he keeps this up and the Dobes/Montembeault duo doesn’t regain consistency, it’ll be very difficult to send him back down…

I liked (1) he looked calm, even when shit was crazy and (2) he was always in a good position to make the saves.

    Really good fundamentals.

    You are one kinky MFer!

I had them put your picture up at the front of every zoo, just in case, for their safety.

    nice 1st win for Fowler!!!

could he be staying for the rest of the season…?

He will obviously lead them to the Stanley Cup because he beat the Pens in his first game, I am already staking my claim on a spot along the parade route.

so apparently Ken Dryden, Patrick Roy and Carey Price have all started their careers against Pittsburgh… huh.

Yeah, way to keep expectations low Montreal media… way to go….

    Recipe for success.

well, considering the tournament is about blue-collar 4th-line grinders, I expect them to actually do very well.

No one ever watches it, even the highlights on TSN are burried.

This is not gonna help get people interested…

However, if Claude Julien is fired as an assistant by the Blues before the tournament starts, will MB fire Therien and hire Julien?

That is the only thing that might make this whole thing interesting.

Marc Bergevin named GM of Team Canada for the Spengler cup, and he nominated Michel Therrien as coach lol

    Recipe for success.

the context in which he’s getting called up kinda sucks, because I don’t think we would’ve seen Fowler this early in the season had Montembeault and Dobes been playing well, but nonetheless I’m excited to see him play.

Kid should just go out there and play his game.

This is a no pressure situation, as you said, he is playing before expected – honestly, did not expect him to play in Montreal unless there were significant goalie injuries except for a game or two at the end of the year (if the playoffs were secure).

Hopefully he has a good game and a gets a few more starts while Dobes and Monty get their shit together.

I am not sure he moves the needle that much for the team, TBH.

They were not going to win the cup this year and we all thought there would be a battle for the playoffs, given some teams that should have made it last year shit the bed and some of the younger teams are starting to push.

My preference is to try out the kids for long periods of time, keep Kapanen and Demodov together, see how Beck handles a bottom 6 role full time, see what Engstrom (and eventually Reinbacher) can also do.

If Evans is done for the season, different discussion, if he is out 4-6 weeks, not sure I bother with a trade

actually his agent said he only had beef with one person (guess who that is lol) and that he’d be willing to come back.

    Everyone hates Mario Tremblay!

well I guess he could help stabilize things defensively, but I’m not sure he’d make others around him play well consistently since he seems to have reverted to his old ways of not creating anything offensively… as for leadership, that’s great but I don’t think it’s what has been lacking with this current group.

I agree on Veleno though, the only time I think I saw him do anything useful was on the PK.

I do not think there is enough Pizza in the world that would make him want to come back to Montreal.

But with Evans out, possibly long-term, might be worth a look if the cost is not terrible and the Habs are not on his no-trade list.

so according to sources Evans had been playing with a foot injury since Nov. 20th, but the habs are saying it’s for personal reasons lol.

    The toe hurts him personally.

perhaps Evans had a lingering injury, which would explain why he wasn’t quite as efficient lately…

hopefully he isn’t out too long though, jfc.

    Apparently since mid-November.

Hearing Evans may be out for while, likely why Beck is up.

He is going to see a specialist in Philly, hopefully he will not be pelted by batteries – you just never know when or where Kick will show up.

They need a better D core

They need better team D overall, lots of missed assignments and opposition players just left alone in good scoring position.

This is not only on the D corps.
