Participanthis is where you guys moved without telling…..bastards!
Time to find a new place….
Mash
Participantcanada, good morning.
what a game, huh?
Would not know.
Went to bed… quick look at the highlights, seemed like a weak winning goal, but I will take it.
Mash
ParticipantWoah.
Nice comeback.
I thought they were toast again tonight.
EDIT: Spoke too soon! OT…. damn, and I am dead tired and need to get up for work in 5 hours.
Mash
Participanthmm. i guess we have to go back to gravitar if we want to change it. i hadn’t thought of that.
Just create an alt account… lord knows everyone here must have 5 elsewhere.
Mash
ParticipantI’ve set up the gravater thing, how do I bring it here now ?
You will never know.
Mash
ParticipantFrance. Bringing my parents on a plane for the first time in their lives.
Should be a memorable moment for them and my kids.
Watch your parents fight over who gets the window seat, they will knock the kids out of the way to get it, too!
LOL
Enjoy the vacation!
Mash
ParticipantThanks Gramps!
I’m officially leaving on vacation in a week and motivation at work is very close to zero!
So… a regular Wednesday then….
Mash
Participantare you gonna get your Hockey Hotstove credentials and alternate with Hugo as a habs blogger..? ????
I really do not have much time right now… I just come by once and a while/every few days to catch up the BS and see what people are talking about.
But not likely.
Like I said, might just start new threads with longer ideas, when I can come up for air.
See what people think.
Mash
ParticipantAs much as people expect Hughes to trade one or both picks for immediate help, the closer to the draft we get, the less I think it happens and we end up drafting players.
I have a quasi-blog about this I wrote while I was waiting for an appointment.
(I waited a while, was bored).
I don’t think they will do what most people expect to address the second line.
Maybe I will post it as a separate thread, it is pretty long.
Mash
ParticipantI will admit, I am surprised by his first season.
To your point, size, inexperience and the “rookie wall” that lots of NCAA players hit in the second half of the season had me wondering if he was better off in Laval for the first part of the season.
I am pretty excited to see how he and Demidov work together, they both seem like rink rats and love to work on their game.
Should be exciting next year.
Mash
ParticipantHeres a crazy piece of trivia someone told me the other day but i cant verify
Jaromir Jagr has had a teammate that has played in the last 45 Stanley Cup Finals
Mash
ParticipantEveryone changing their name/avatar, now I do not know who to ignore anymore…
I am expecting 2 big trades and 1 UFA signing.
Going to hibernate until after the SCF is over and the real stuff begins.
Mash
ParticipantNot really back… more just looking once and a while.
Just have had a lot of heavy poop (not sure if there are swear filters here! LOL) to deal with, one after another, after another, and it has been very mentally draining.
Don’t really have much time to waste/troll on the internet these days.
Mash
ParticipantI’ve been watching some of the Laval Rocket’s playoff games.
With his injury, Reinbacher looks like he could use more time in the AHL, at least for part of the season. I have seen growth in his game, but he just needs more time.
Mailloux is still really bad defensively, making bad pinches, and coughing up the puck, he is not ready and I am not sure his bad defensive coverages will make him a decent NHL player. Unless things improve dramatically, he looks more and more like a 6-7 guy in the NHL.
The one player that impressed me on D was Adam Engström (or maybe, I just had low expectations for him before watching), he often looked very solid out there, but again, still rough around the edges. But at this point, ahead of Mailloux.
Given all that, I expect the Habs to go out and get some type of stop-gap Veteran RD, likely via trade given that some of those UFAs are too old (and will want long-term contracts). Of the ones you listed, Rasmus Andersson is likely the best option, but I am not sure the Flames are willing to trade him, given their lack of depth on defence and he has a cheap contract for next year. I suspect they they will likely try to extend him.
I think trading for Dobson is unlikely, given their more pressing need for second line center/scoring. I think the Habs will use their prime assets to address this issue (unless they go for a short-term older UFA to play with Demidov, like Duchene, Granlund or Nelson on a 2-3 year contract).
My guess is that HuGo do another under-the-radar trade, such as the Carrier trade from last year. I suspect it won’t be a flashy player, won’t be a long-term contract, but they will do the job until Reinbacher is ready.
Mash
ParticipantStill alive.
Dealing with crap.
What is this place?
Nothing worth talking about for another few weeks, anyways.
Maybe I will be back.
Someday.
