Mustaine co-wrote the song while he was still in Metallica. So, it’s not truly a cover, it’s partially his song.
Might just be Mustaine grasping at some final relevance.

He also has a chance to gain the Mt Rushmore of ugly old rockers in the not-to-distant future.

Not sure how far ahead these guys regularly attend games for opponent scouting:
Hawks play the Ducks 8 games down the road.
Hawks play the Kings in 10 games.
Hawks play the Predators in 7 games.
Devils play the Red Wings in 5 games.
Devils play the Blues in 6 games.

Neither team pays the NYI for at least 20 games.
Neither team plays Edmonton until January.
